10 Kids’ Craft from Recycled Materials!

Do you have any ideas for inspiring creativity in your kids? One of the wonderful ways to foster creativity and instill ideals like environmental stewardship is through recycled art.

The children will be astonished when they discover for themselves the kinds of things they can make out of commonplace “junk”! They may reimagine and rethink how they can be reused and recreated to transform into works of art that are beyond their wildest dreams by using basic waste materials.

I began working on this project with my 6-year-old class. The kids came up with a variety of vehicles and structures as we engaged in neighborhood-themed activities. The kids got to build the models with their parents as part of a take-home activity. Strong parent-child cooperation resulted from discussions about what to make, which materials would be best, and the art-making process as a whole. Some kids follow their parents’ lead and started the great learning process of producing their finished product.
