Top 10 Companies Using Recycled Materials in Manufacturing

For environmentally conscious customers, companies like Dell, Adidas, Nike, Patagonia, Garnier, WeWood, and others create their products from recycled materials.

Here are our top 10 companies that create their goods utilising recycled materials as demand for environmentally sourced goods soars.

1. Coral Eyewear

There must be a place for the estimated 5.25 trillion pieces of plastic in the water. From used fishing nets and recycled plastic, Coral Eyewear makes fashionable, environmentally friendly eyewear. The company, which was established in 2019 by 19-year-old George Bailey, is committed to promoting sustainable solutions and informing environmentally and fashion-conscious consumers about sustainable solutions.

2.  We WOOD

With WeWOOD, it’s time to plant some trees. WeWOOD, an Italian company that was established in 2011, creates timepieces out of recycled and salvaged wood as well as other materials.

The business planted more than 600,000 trees in partnership with Trees For The Future.

3. Green Toys

The children’s toy firm Green Toys creates colourful toys for imaginative boys and girls using recycled milk jugs.

For every pound of milk jugs recycled, Green Toys claims, enough energy is saved to run a laptop for a month. To date, they have recycled more than 113,312,538 bottles.

4. Shini USA

The plastic manufacturing business, a branch of the machinery maker Budzar Industries, offers its clients “unparalleled quality” in production together with sustainably produced goods.

For the recycling of plastic waste at Shini USA, heating and cooling systems for plastic processors as well as plastic granulators are used.

5. Terra Cycle

As part of its mission to reduce waste, TerraCycle sells abandoned goods that are thought to be unusable for recycling to other companies.

The business has established a network with the goal of reusing these items, and it provides a product name search option so those want to recycle can check to see if TerraCycle will take their item at some point in its second life.

6. Garnier

The French cosmetics business Garnier understands how consumer preferences have evolved and how they want to support a company that is committed to sustainable growth.

In its packaging, Garnier already employs recycled plastic. The business will make packaging from recyclable, biodegradable, or reusable materials by 2025, and it will make sure that all Garnier factories are CO2 neutral.

7. Patagonia

Patagonia started using recycled polyester from soda bottle plastic to produce its outdoor clothes in 1993.

For the polyester fibres used in its clothing line, the company now recycles bottles, manufacturing trash, and worn-out Patagonia clothes.

Guppyfriend, a washing bag that lessens the quantity of synthetic microfibers that can end up in the oceans, is another product sold by the progressive company.

8. Nike

The technology of Nike’s Flyknit running shoes was developed in collaboration with programmers, engineers, and designers.

Flyknit production reduces by 60% the amount of material waste utilised in the cut-and-sew procedure of making shoes. Additionally, six recycled plastic bottles are used in the production of each pair.

9. Adidas

Adidas teamed up with the environmental group Parley for the Oceans in 2015 to spread knowledge about the state of the oceans and the effects of pollution.

Adidas then started to work. Just over half of the polyester used in Adidas products in 2020 came from waste plastic that has already been recycled. Adidas produced 15 million pairs of shoes created from beach plastic debris in the same year.

However, starting in 2024, the business will only produce its clothing using recycled polyester.

10. Dell

While discarded technology causes e-waste to afflict the world, plastic bottles poison the ocean. Dell made the decision to assume responsibility and act. Dell is based in Round Rock, Texas, where it was founded in 1984. Dell gathered 4.5 million kilogrammes of recycled plastic in 2014 to make its desktops and displays. It kept using the leftover components from consumers’ old computers to make new products, and later it expanded the programme to include not just outdated Dell hardware but also other tech manufacturers.
