10. Magazine Collages Make Gorgeous Art

A unique keepsake can be made by creating a collage, which is enjoyable and creative.

Give your children some glue and a sheet of 8.5″ x 11″ card stock or craft paper. To help them with their collage, suggest a subject.

Have them search through piles of magazines and cut out images for their project using that theme. Have Tom, for instance, gather images of various dogs, dog food, bowls, a park, fire hydrants, dog houses, etc. if his collage is to be about dogs.

They are free to use all of their imagination and creativity. Once the images have been cut out, ask the students to glue each one onto a separate piece of construction paper, overlapping as desired.

Decoupage and paper mache crafts benefit greatly from images clipped from magazines.

1. First, combine equal portions of white glue and water to make your own decoupage medium.
2. Combine with a paintbrush, adding more water or glue as necessary to achieve a milky, paintable consistency.
3. Apply decoupage with a paintbrush to discarded wood, empty glass jars, and empty vegetable cans.
4. After placing your image on the decoupaged surface, paint another layer of decoupage over it.
5. Smooth out the piece and remove any bubbles or lines using the paintbrush.

12. Magazine Beads Make Paper Beads

It’s a lot of fun to make magazine beads, and they may be really colourful and distinctive!

The handcrafted paper beads take a lot of effort to make and are most suitable for kids in elementary school and up.

All you need to manufacture beads of any size is strips cut from magazine pages, a dowel or straw to wrap them around, and glue to keep them in place.Instead of using glue, consider using a decoupage medium like Mod Podge, which serves as both an adhesive and a sealer to safeguard your hard work.

13. Glossy Paper Mosaics Turn Magazines into Art

You don’t have to limit yourself to images; you can use colours instead.

  • Find an image of the sky for “blue” and a photo of the grass for “green,” for instance. Create your own vibrant patterns by chopping or tearing the sky and grass into tiny pieces.
  • Use these more compact pieces to make amusing mosaic patterns. Colourful pages can be torn into pieces or cut into squares, then glued into a pattern on a sheet of construction paper.
  • Cut or break up pieces of yellow paper, and then paste them onto your paper to create petals for a charming sunflower.
  • For the flower’s centre, use brown scraps, and for the stems and leaves, use green. Be even more comprehensive and fill in the sky and clouds for the background of your creation with blue and white.
