15  Craft Unique Phys Ed Games Your Students Will Love

Nothing helps youngsters unwind from a day of listening and sitting still more than a fun PE lesson where they can let off some steam. Running a few laps and then playing kickball or dodgeball were certainly part of gym class in the past. Since then, there have been innumerable remakes, modifications, and brand-new games in addition to old favorites. There are many of possibilities, but we appreciate that the materials needed are still quite basic. Make sure you stock up on basic essentials like balls, Hula Hoops, bean bags, and parachute. No matter how athletic your pupils are, our list of primary PE games has a game for everyone!

1. Tic-Tac-Toe Relay

Our favorite elementary physical education activities are those that encourage pupils to think as well as move. Prepare to witness the excitement by gathering some beanbags or scarves and some hula hoops.

2. Blob Tag

Select two students to serve as the Blob’s initial members; when they tag additional students, they will integrate into the Blob. Make sure to use safe tagging and emphasize the value of gentle touches.

3. Cross the River

Students must complete a number of tasks in this entertaining game, including “get to the island,” “cross the river,” and “you lost a rock.”

4. Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Cones

Line up cones, then have students pair up and stand on either side of a cone. Finally, call out head, shoulders, knees, or cones. If cones is called, students have to race to be the first to pick up their cone before their opponent.

5. Spider Ball

Dodgeball games like this one are common in elementary school physical education. Starting with the ball, one or two players try to strike each runner as they cross the field or gym. If a player is struck, they can join in and turn into a spider as well.

6. Crab Soccer

Students will play football that is comparable to traditional football while remaining on all fours and maintaining a crab position.

7. Halloween Tag

To play in October, this PE activity is ideal. There are witches, wizards, and blobs with no bones, and it’s similar to tag.

8. Crazy Caterpillars

We adore how this game improves kids’ hand-eye coordination while simultaneously being entertaining. While constructing their caterpillars, students will enjoy kicking their balls around the gym with pool noodles.

9. Monster Ball

To serve as the giant ball in the middle, you’ll need a large exercise ball or something comparable. To transfer the monster ball into the territory of the other team, divide the class into teams and place them on either side of the monster ball in a square.

10. Striker Ball

Striker ball is an enjoyable game that will keep your students entertained while working on reaction time and strategic planning. We love that there is limited setup required before playing.

11. Parachute Tug-of-War

Without some parachute fun, what list of basic physical education games would be complete? A sizable parachute and enough students to form two teams are all that are required for this easy yet entertaining activity. Students should stand on opposing sides of the parachute and compete to see which side can win.

12. Fleas Off the Parachute

Another entertaining parachute game involves two teams competing to keep the balls (fleas) attached to the parachute while the other team tries to remove them.

13. Crazy Ball

With three bases and a home base, this entertaining game is set up similarly to a game of kickball. Given that it mixes aspects of football, frisbee, and kickball, crazy ball is truly absurd.

14. Bridge Tag

Once the tagging starts, this game transforms from a straightforward game of tag into something more enjoyable. Once tagged, children must use their bodies to create a bridge before anyone may release them.

15. Star Wars Tag
